Throwback post to Lauren & Brad’s wedding at the Chevy Chase Country Club!

I’ve had the pleasure of working with Lauren’s family twice now.
More recently I photographed her younger brother Seth’s engagement session and wedding.

About the couple

Lauren & Brad are one of my favorite couples. I had a wonderful time photographing their wedding and they’ve been incredibly generous and gracious to me in the years since.

Brad and Lauren actually met in college at the University of Illinois, and quickly became friends by hanging out in the same social circles. In the years after college, they would see each other at mutual friend events. However it wasn’t until 2014 when Lauren moved into her River North condo, that they ran into each other at the grocery store. After chatting, Brad asked Lauren out on a date. Two years later, Brad proposed at the very same grocery store. They both have a mutual love of sports. Brad is a big fan of the NFL and Chicago baseball, while Lauren is diehard Blackhawks fan.

I have to admit, this was one of the few weddings in my career where it actually rained the entire day. That said, Lauren & Brad didn’t let that damper their spirits one bit. In getting to know them, their ideal wedding included everyone having a great time on the dance floor, rather than attending a stiff formal occasion. They viewed it as a celebration for everybody invited; not just the bride and groom. They accomplished this in every way you can imagine. Even though we couldn’t take advantage of the outside grounds for photos, they were still fun, upbeat, and open minded while creating images inside.

Their ceremony was beautiful, their wedding party was a ton of fun, and their dance floor was never empty. I cannot thank Lauren & Brad enough for letting me be a part of it all, and for keeping in touch since!
